Teeyah was born in 1974 in Port-au-Prince, Haïti. Her desire to paint started after the 2010 Haïti’s earthquake when she lost her mother and many friends. In 2011 she began her trainings in drawings, charcoal, watercolor, pastel and acrylic techniques. During an Exhibition in 2016, she met Paskö (Pierre Pascal Mérisier) a renowned Haitian artist who curated her solo exhibition in December 2016. Teeyah participated in many of his visual art and creative exploration workshops. Her work has been exhibited in Haiti, Canada, United States including Art Basel Miami in 2017 and her work is in many private collections. Teeyah’s paintings are abstract in style and is intended to be a visual experience. She lives and works in her studio in Haiti where she is continuing her studies, experiments and research in abstractions.
