Delhi Based Contemporary Watercolorist Since childhood, I have refused to admit that water is colorless, shapeless and odorless. I used to look at paintings and wonder, how one can say that water can’t create shapes? Years later, I joined the Art College at Kolkata. There I picked the brush, dipped it in color and turned to the blank canvas for the first time. Ever since, I have never looked back. That was the beginning. I’m sure there are countless artistic souls out there who try to capture the beauty of Mother Nature on their blank canvases. Be it a clear sky, a landscape or a flock of birds heading home at dusk carrying straws in their beaks, the picture simply doesn’t leave you. The picture lingers in your head. Hours later, you desperately try to bring that out on your canvas. But unfortunately, the end result doesn’t please you. Reason –The absence of the knowledge of using watercolors.
