C'est en 1974, pour l'anniversaire de mes 20 ans, que me fut offert mon premier appareil photographique. De qualité modeste il me permit néanmoins de réaliser ce cliché ('"Au bistrot") qui, plus de quarante ans après et malgré sa mauvaise qualité technique, conserve toute mon affection. Cet instant dérobé à la temporalité, ce présent figé d'un passé évanescent exprime cette sensation de chaos et d'incompréhension qui m'a toujours hanté. Par la suite, l'exercice photographique m'a permis, en divers moments de mon existence, de transformer cette mélancolie abrupte en une forme de "Saudade" que le compositeur "Pierre Barouh" définit comme un manque habité.
