My artwork has become more than a cathartic journey onto the canvas… it is the need to experience a sensory overload when not only transferring ideas, but rather feel, touch, smell, see and morph into the art as one. This starts with ideas that echo into images with possible colour, the want to create, study, reflect and execute the art.
I have come to accept the release of my inhibition as my muse, it mocks my ongoing thoughts challenging me to explore what may lie ahead. It started when the white surface of the canvas was not enough, I moved to masonite panels, but this too became limiting, leading me to seek other surfaces, moving onto rocks, destressed wood, metal and touching the natural fibres of linen lending me the ability to wear the art, therefore becoming the art.
Today, I render figurative images on various surfaces looking to connect sometimes even beyond the canvas.
