Binod Pradhan

I am a contemporary Nepali visual artist and a co-founder of Kasthamandap Art Studio and E-Arts Nepal. I have earned Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts (BFA) from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. I have been practicing and creating arts and paintings and have been exhibiting my artworks since 1991. I have done 8 solo art exhibitions and recently on February month 2015 at The City Museum Kathmandu. I was awarded early by ‘2nd Prize, Inter-School Competition, Bal Mandir, Kathmandu – 1987’, ‘1st Prize, Nepal Telecommunication Directory Cover Design Competition by NTC – 1992’, ‘Consolation Award - Cartoon Competition, HASNE, – 1992’ ‘First Prize - Painting Competition, Lalit Kala Student Union – 1993’, 2nd Prize, 27th National Art Exhibition, NAFA-1997; 1st Prize, National Level Painting Competition, Ganesh Man Singh Adhyayan Pratisthan-1997, Best Field Work, 2D Animation, Demo Reel-2005, All India Painting Competition-Camel Art Foundation Award on Professional Artist Category-2006, and ‘Gold Medal with Arniko Youth Award-2068, Ratriya Yuwa Sewa Kosh, Kathmandu, Nepal-2012’. I have taken part in various group art exhibitions in Nepal and my artworks have been exhibited in—Kolkata, Colombo, New Delhi, San Francisco (USA), Japan, Belgium, South Korea, Thimpu, Dhaka, California, France, Netherlands, Berlin, Kohl, Chicago, Singapore and Indonesia. I was the participant in many art workshops organized by various organizations national and international. I have earned fellowship for residency programs and artists camp in Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, India and Indonesia. I do collaborate with sculptors, musician, poets, dramatists, photographers and experiment with multi media. I have participated in the 1st Kathmandu International Art Festivals (KAIF) 2009 and 2nd International Symposium on Art for Nature at Langtang National Park, Rasuwa, Nepal . My artworks have been collected by Prime Minister’s Residence (Nepal), Hotel de’l Annapurna (Nepal), Her Highness Maharani Yasho Raje Laxmi of Jammu and Kashmir (India), Agni Incorporated, Sunrise Bank- Nepal, Ambassador of Australia to Nepal, Ambassador of Egypt to Nepal, Nepal Investment Bank, and in private collections in Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, UAE, South Africa, Kenya, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Australia, UK, France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Norway, Germany, USA, Canada and Singapore. I have traveled in different countries like USA, Sri Lanka, India, Bhutan, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Indonesia, Malaysia, China and Thailand. I live and work in Kathmandu, Nepal.
