Benedito Cesar Silva (aka Menedico) was born in Camanducaia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He is not a professional who produces homogenous works. His life and work involve variety. He is not committed to a single artistic or literary genre. He initially obtained a degree in business administration at the Universidade São Francisco (USF) in São Paulo. Benedito is a specialist in people management and social projects (UNIFEI-MG), school administration (UCAM-RJ) and in production engineering (Instituto Prominas), holds a technical certificate in secretarial skills (DRT 1781), majoring in History. Teacher, writer, a fine artist, photographer, lyricist, publisher, cover designer and amateur athlete. He moves from painting to photography, poetry and music. He has also worked with series. His photos sometimes disassociate themselves from their documentary function to enter the realm of beauty and esthetic composition, in a poetic proximity to the keen eye of the photographer. He seeks yet another form of artistic expression in painting, where abstractionism and colors are the highlights of his work. In digital art Benedito blends technology with creativity. Colorful and well-defined works. Always tuned into language and its movement, he has organized theater and Congado groups. He has exhibited photos. He took part in the Serestas Reviver Group. He was master of ceremonies at the samba school "Mocidade Independente Unidos do Samba" of Camanducaia (2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012). He has participated in several poetry festivals. He has won awards in poetry competitions, with particular emphasis on a special mention from the Writers’ Association of Bragança Paulista (SP, 2003). His literary works have been included in anthologies in Brazil, Argentina, and Italy. He also has literary works published in Portugal and Australia. Benedito Cesar Silva is a correspondent member of the Academy of Arts and Letters of Fortaleza, Ceará - ALAF; Academy of Science, Letters and Arts of Vitória, Espírito Santo - ACLAV, and of the Academy of Science, Letters and Arts Luminescência of Araraquara, SP. Winner of the Luso-Brazilian Poetry Prize 2013 conferred by the Cultural Society of Madeira Island. Portugal.
