My works are based on my home, family, closest friends and how I perceive everything. All my works are connected to my sexuality and how everyday I know more and more about myself. Memories and dreams play an important role in my works. As I experience different situations my work develop along with them. It's an extension of what I live, and how I live. All my works are like different pages of a diary where there are images, videos, writing, drawings, etc.
I like to have a conversation with my self through my works and the question, 'who am I?' is always there, as all my work starts from a very personal level, I get to know more about me while working. Sometimes my works are confessions, sometimes just observations, they're a process through which I am understanding the world around me.
I am very much interested in old film negatives, xrays, scans, etc. I find them interesting because they are not be visible in normal sight. We need certain instruments to see inside bodies, and negatives are something I find have a primary role in analogue camera. It is the first visual a photographer sees and then it further develops into image which look more accurate to real life. I find at this time, screen reality is also something my works are now based on. I was born just before the digital / internet revolution. I feel it changed everything. We live in a world of filters, reproduction, copies, digital realities, etc, which I find somehow affect me and my work.
I like magic, film is the most magical medium. At this point in time I feel video and photographs are my necessary mediums, without them I don't feel I exist. More than painting and drawing, I feel I can include everything in them and they are mediums I feel closest to reality, yet they are not real. I feel the way my mind works, for me, video is more relatable. More than painting itself, I like the whole process of video; living with it, working on it again and again, 'til it comes to a point where I don't want to change it anymore or get bored.
