Sean Henry
Jamaican Artist, Sean Henry, is best known for his lifelike and expressive illustrations of Jamaican sceneries, culture and portraitures. Sean’s works of watercolor, pastel, pen & ink, charcoal, and/or mixed media, are derived from his drawings and photographs of the unique and realistic island life. His extraordinary talent, distinct style, and true depictions of island culture have helped him carve a niche in the Caribbean art world.
After graduating, in 1987, from the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts (formerly Jamaica School of Art), Sean founded the leading screen printing and graphic house in Jamaica, IYA Limited, in 1988. As Director and Artistic Creator of IYA Ltd., since the inception, Sean develops unique custom-made designs for t-shirts and other apparel for individuals and major corporations throughout the island, as well as internationally.
Over the years, Sean’s passion for painting has yielded him exhibitions in Jamaica and Florida (USA). He thrives on showcasing the true image of Jamaican life. Sean’s 2016 exhibition (“Art Cart”) portrays the unique style of transportation used by some of Jamaica’s “unsung heroes” the versatile and hardworking fruit, vegetable and peanut vendors. His most recent show (“Escapes”) in 2017, was his largest collection, to date, and showcased the realistic sea and landscapes of island life.
