David Alvarado was born in Costa Rica 27-10-1958. He studies painting in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Universidad de Costa Rica whereas, in Montreal, he studies Fashion Design. It is also in Montreal where he started developing his talent for painting. Later, in the renowned ITHQ he obtains a Certificate in French Cuisine.
Alvarado places the woman as a central element in his work. Her majestic beauty, the fascinating tenderness, the legionary strength, the unfathomable complexity, the abyssal depth of her heart; are all traits that fascinate the artist and touch his soul. Such admiration strikes the viewer at first glance and it is the life of the painter that passes before his/her eyes. These women whom he knew, he felt, he has imagined, he has dreamed out, come out his work to bring faith to those who contemplate them.
Recently, themes such as the fragility of life, reproduction and the deep desire for sustainability of the human species are addressed in his work; Alvarado managed - with a sensitivity rarely seen - to combine the subjects with high philosophical aspects with concerns as current as the protection of our environment of our extraordinary planet.
Spirituality permeates the artistic process of Alvarado. The search for God in thyself, the search for thyself through God, but above all, the wonders of The Creation, before humanity in front of others, in front of thyself is so intense, so vibrant, so smooth that pierced by harmony and light, the viewer barely turns to look and move away.
