I’ve had these cravings since birth. To draw, paint, sculpt, create…
This eventually led me to Parsons School of Design NYC, developing my crafts and honing my philosophy amongst the community of artists in The Village.
To pay for my passions, I landed as creative director at several ad agencies & publishing companies. I also advanced my ability to generate emotion by designing live environments as an event designer.
My work transported me to major US and Canadian cities, up and down the coast of Southern California, the Caribbean and Mexico. Along the way I continued to be enlightened by diverse peoples, absorbing their cultures through the infinite beauty & colors in their worlds.
The camera replaced my brush to capture these candid moments… to express myself in a clear-cut medium.
I think of it as pop-culture performance in photography.

Artist’s Profile
Ronnie Caplan is a Canadian Event Producer, Creative Director and Writer, currently dividing his time between Montreal and Toronto.
Schooled in Graphic Design at Montreal’s Dawson College and Parsons School of Design in NYC, his career has been varied and multi-dimensional, yet solidly focused – from managing his own marketing communications / consulting company in Toronto to stints working throughout North America for an incentive and promotions company, and as the Creative Director for an event marketing & conference management PR firm in LA to producing a host of special branding communications / sponsorship projects in his hometown of Montreal.
Always having his digital camera within reach during his travels, Ronnie has now decided to express himself beyond the realm of the stage and multimedia screen, and from within the confines of experiential live events and corporate theatre . . . thus creating stunning, original works of art.
Ronnie’s photos have been taken in Southern California, New York City, Puerto Rico, Montreal . . . then transformed, variegated, modulated and altered on his MacBook in Photoshop.
Artist’s Statement
Presented in a myriad of mixed medias and emotions, with modish subjects and series, my work ultimately evokes poignant ruminations on art in the streets, with new portrayals of hackneyed tourismo topics, found rhapsodies in the everyday mundane scenes, and, by looking ever so closely, finding buried beauty and covert charm where no one is used to seeing it. Composition and color play a large part in unearthing the esoteric appeal and symmetry to be found in atypical urban and landscapes . . .
