Painted on location in searing July heat Sampson captures the strong light and reduced colour palette of a hot blindingly sunny environment. The white-washed houses typical of the islands, offer a blank page of basic powerful light effects. Sampson wanted also to re-live distant of years passed...memories of Lindos via a painting interpretation.
