This was a commissioned portrait by the Igor Stravinsky foundation of Igor Stravinsky. The portrait was part of The 100 Faces Project exhibited in Geneva, Switzerland in 2013.
About the 100 Faces Project:
I was inspired after reading Seth Godin's The Purple Cow, to create my own purple cow, something that would create a wow! So I decided to paint 100 faces in a year to capture the spirit of the people and exhibit them as a giant mosaic in a prestigious gallery in Geneva, Switzerland. I also used to project to solve my cash flow problems. So I sent a newsletter to all my contacts to tell them about my idea and offered them the chance to become an Art Ambassador of the project by commissioning a portrait of themselves or a loved one. The idea caught on, and within a day, I had already sold 30 portraits (in advance). The project was huge and it had many challenges, one of which was confronting 100 people with an artist's image of themselves. Let's just say that there were a few nose jobs and facelifts performed (using acrylic paint)!
