Caminante I

This is part of the series of Walking Figures, walking for me is a metaphor for the journey of life. My figures are walking in the light and towards the light, which is our essence and destiny. The painting is richly painted in many layers, creating a texture that invites a tactile response. Using both figurative and abstract expressions creates an even reacher, more painterly and expressive work. In this painting I am working mostly with red and purple, red being the lowest vibration of the colors of the espectrum and purple being the highest vibration of the colors of the spectrum, red corresponds to the earth element and the base chakra and purple corresponds to consciousness - thoght and the third eye chakra.
