One world inside Another

There is a certain amount of osmosis between the inside and outside worlds of all people, taking place through the semi-permeable "membrane" of our mind. This is even more profound in artists and intellectuals who eagerly try to understand and interpret these two worlds and their interaction, and subsequently question, challenge and redefine their boundaries. With thoughtful, inward looking, critical thinking and introspection, the two apparently discrete and different worlds gradually seem to intermix, diffuse into each other and become part of a unified whole, sometimes tantalizingly difficult to separate. Two in one. Different materials, same atoms. Reality and perception. Matter and spirit. Thoughts and feelings. A unique, personalized, individual world for every individual person, for every individual artist. Consisting of two worlds: a complex, deep, warm and stormy inner one, and an immense, perplexed and immeasurable outside. One inside the other. A direct reference to Rene Magritte's work is attempted in this painting. In his words, everything we see hides something else behind it. Perhaps this is also true with everything we think.. and everything we feel.
