Streams and wells run dry here in dry season. You can still find water in boreholes, but not everyone has a borehole. Sometimes these children have to walk far in search of water from ditches. Water na life. Without it you can’t cook your food. And you need water to drink right? Without water you can’t wash your clothes, and if you work with dirty clothes it’s not hygienic. After school, kids run back home, drop their bags, and after lunch run to streams to get water. It’s not as if there’s water in the stream. They have to dig holes to get water to wash their school uniforms, wash the plates, wash themselves. Then they have to store some for tomorrow morning to get prepared for school. Now water is life because without it one would not move to anywhere.
