When we were kids, mom would bring things for us when she came home from the market. She would divide it into shares, and we would all come and pick our own share. You would always try to make sure you got the biggest one. If you got it, you would be very happy – you weren’t thinking about the next person who gets a smaller share. You were just happy about your own. We are all like that as children. As we grow, we all need to learn how to put others first. How to value the wellbeing of other people as well as your own. Some of us still have a lot to learn.
