"American Landscape" Exhibited in the 1974 Joslyn Biennial, this work stems from my lifelong affair with the automobile and fascination with their lifecycle. Using graphite on Strathmore rag, I work in layers, starting with a 5H pencil drawing everything in, then applying a layer of workable fixative and continuing with progressively softer pencil values and layers until I achieve the total contrast I desire for any individual work.
