Conceptually, this work is inspired by Marcel Broodthaers's "Musée d'Art Moderne, Département des Aigles, Section des Figures" (Museum of Modern Art, Department of Eagles, Section Figures) from 1972. Formally, it is inspired from a eagle photograph I downloaded from the Internet. What do you hope viewers will feel/think? I hope the viewers interpret this painting as a extension of the Broodthaers's work. I hope they think his "Musée d'Art Moderne"" is not finished and it is still possible an artist from another geographic provenance, culture and century can still creating in the same artistic purpose. This shows how art can be a kind of open dialogue with the world and the future. Years ago, I had a dream about it: Broodthaers was asking me this painting. He was interested to introduce it in his imaginary museum. Since 2015, this painting titled "Musée d'Art Moderne, Département des Aigles #2" is in The Yellowstone Club Collection, Big Sky, Montana, USA. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? I chose the oil on canvas because this medium allows me to paint in a realistic style.
