Saint John The Baptist

Saint John The Baptist -“Icons in Romanian clothes” (~5BC-28), celebrated on the 7th of January He is the Greatest Saint after the Virgin Mary, The One who Initiates, Messenger and Baptiser of Jesus. The Icon suggests a primitive figure, under the sign of the guillotine (it can not only separate the body from the head, but life from death, present from future, earth from heaven, etc.) he bathes in the muddy water of the Jordan, but is surrounded by blue, clear and bright water of Baptism. Everything is dominated by the symbol of the Communion.
