A night is a stream of ink. It’s a wind of charcoal. It’s a hot night in Arizona, and someone is awake. The mountain is awake with colours. One special night in everyone’s lives when we just smile into the quiet of the smiling stars. The more often we look at the stars the less we fight. Stars are the natural winners. Whatever shines from within, wins. Remember that. How do you win? Dissolve the competition. Just shine.
A Colour Wave in Arizona
"A Colour Wave in Arizona" mixed media on 104 x 123 cms unstretched canvas / Hi! I am so pleased to tell you that I just finished this fun and mesmerizing piece I created !Last night (yep, I like night painting) it was still slightly wet because I mixed in some inks to the acrylics here and there ; ) Today I feel very lucky because I received last minute help to take some nice photo of this artwork. We brought it outside to catch the natural light, but it was windy so the whole process felt between a photo-shooting session and a land windsurf session in the car park below my house, in Slovakia!I live here but I am from Italy. My South of Italy is warm and colorful, and it shows in my art. I really had to place a neon fluorescent color striped mountain in the background calling for the attention, for adventure and mystery! Right now I am back to my burning passion for stars, night skies and glowing magical things. Somewhere between the mountains and the urban scene in the front there can be a desert if you will. I thought Arizona, desert, cactus, heat, fun, color, wild and wilderness, and wide deep starry skies. I have not been there yet, nor have I traveled further that Europe so far but this is how I felt it. And google Images helped to find out what the roads of Tempe and Phoenix look like. I even immersed myself in tons of youtube videos about Tempe to grasp the general atmosphere. The night scene came as a later idea, because the night is a moment of introspection, quiet, sleep or also of wild parties, or genius creatives at work. There's a breath in the night which makes space expand and hidden secrets come to life. So I wished to add the mountain because it connects the foreground with the sky. And I used those psychedelic colours because I heard the stories about the native shamans and other states of consciousness. Sorry if I misspell something : ) Instead of the road between the city trees I put a river, to add an element of unexpected, of unusual and also the concept of water, flow, and dream. So is this real or is this a dream?Write to ask more info if you wish and thanks for the lovely opportunity to have great fun painting this Colour Wave in Arizona.
